Sanathana Natyalaya

Welcome to Sanathana Natyalaya

Sanathana Natyalaya ®, Mangalore centre for classical dance is creating awareness of this art since 1984. Since 30 decades the institution has been teaching Bharathanatyam to hundreds of students and also shaping their life by inculcating Indian culture among them.

It was in 1984, a novel foundation for this institution was laid by late N.K. Sundar Acharya a prominent musician. With great passion for this art, a vision in mind, and strong commitment his daughter vidushi sharadamari Shekar (Dance guru, Sanathana Natyalaya) is leading this institution with the moral support of her husband Sri Chandrashekar K Shetty (Director, Sanathana Natyalaya) As the present generation started taking keen interest in this art forms the institute started expanding its branches across rural areas of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi like Karkala, Moodbidri, Yadapadvu, Kaikamba and Niddodi. Thus enabling rural children also to learn this art.

Testimonials

Shilpa-JainI want to start by saying that, my time dancing under the guidance of guru Sharada mani at Sanathana Natyalya was by far some of the best years of my life. I loved, lived and laughed every moment here. Teacher not only taught me to dance to the best of my ability but helped me with everyday life. I feel this shows what a fantastic person she is. That being said her professionalism was second to none. As students we are always challenged and encouraged, but most importantly have a wonderful time dancing and a lot of fun!I would without a doubt recommend this school to everyone who loves the art of dance.
