Shubhamani-profileSHUBHAMANI CHANDRASHEKAR, born in a family of great dancers and musicians. She started learning Bharatnatyam (form of Indian Classical Dance) at the age of 5 under her illustrious mother Sharadhamani Shekar, who is running a very famous dance institution called ‘Sanathana Natyalaya’ for the past 36 successful years in Mangalore with Shubhamani’s father Mr. Chandra Shekar shetty also being the director of it.

Other than dance, she developed interest in other musical fields like keyboard and vocal at a very tender age and continued learning them as well.. Later, she was sent to Chennai to continue her journey of Bharathanatyam in KALAKSHETRA FOUDATION. There, she perceived to learn dance for 5 years and completed her Schooling from Besant Arundale senior secondary school which was also a part of Kalakshetra Institute, from where she passed out successfully in the year of 2013 by achieving the highest score in dance all over India..And now, she’s persuing B.A. from Technia Institute of Arts and Design, Delhi.

In the year 2013, she started her training under the renowned and very respected dancer, Guru kalaimamani Rama Vaidyanathan at Padmabhushan Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan’s dance institution called ‘Ganesa Natyalaya’ in Delhi..During her training, she also took part in her Guru Rama Vaidyanathan’s dance productions, performances, workshops and residencies.She has also accompanied her guru on Nattuvangam, a very significant instrument of Bharatnatyam. And since then, Shubhamani is a part of various dance and music productions of her guru Rama Vaidyanathan.

Simultaneously Shubhamani has been teaching dance in her mother’s institute ‘Sanathana Natyalaya’ for past 2 years and have been taking workshops regularly for students. Also, she’s a staff member at this institution and train students who have won many laurells for her institution. Her aim is to widen her knowledge of Bharathantyam by learning from her guru and give it back to the students of her mother’s institution.

Shubhamani, has given many solo performances and group or production performances all over India such as world’s famous temple TIRUMALA THIRUPATHI which was live telecasted in SVBC channel,India Habitat Cetre in New Delhi,Karnataka Sangha in Mumbai for Evam Festival, Swashakti Festival in Mangalore,World Culture Festival in New Delhi in 2016, Seva Sadan In Bangalore, Vellore Golden Temple, Suraj kund international festival Delhi, inaugural ceremony of 13th National Youth festival, Hampi utsav, Chalukya utsav, Lakkundi utsav, Kadamba utsav, Vishwa Kannada sammelana Belgaum, Amerikannadotsava Bangalore, Alva’s Virasat and Alva’s Nudisiri Moodbidre and also in ‘Vijay TV’ etc.

She has recieved various awards for dance and appreciation from the audience everywhere.

Selected as “B”grade artist of Bangalore Doordarshan (Chandana)

Selected to perform at “spirit of youth festival” of music and dance – 2017 by The Music Academy, Madras

Performed at world culture festival conducted at Delhi by Sri Sri Ravishankar Guruji of Art of living.

Solo performance at Alva’s Nudisiri 2017, Samarpan 2017, National dance and music festival conducted by Mani Krishna Swamy academy.
